The National Government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Office awarded a cash incentive amounting to P100,000.00 to a centenarian at barangay Lattac, Sto. NiΓ±o, Cagayan.

Also, the Municipal Government of Santo NiΓ±o, through Vice Mayor AV Roxas Pagurayan and SB Members present, awarded the check amounting to twenty- five thousand pesos (P25,000.00). This is one of the initiatives of the LGU in recognizing our dear senior citizens.

The said centenarian is Lola Luisa Calano Batugal who is now one hundred (100) years old and the third (3rd) centenarian who was given such incentive this year.

The said awarding was held during her birthday celebration and it was started with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Alex Caurel.

This is pursuant to the provisions of RA 10868 otherwise known as the Centenarian Act of 2016 where the National Government are mandated to award cash incentive amounting to P100,000 to Filipino citizens who have reached the age of 100 years old.
