In a remarkable achievement, the Municipality of Sto. Niño has been recognized as FULLY COMPLIANT in the GAWAD KALASAG SEAL for Local DRRM Councils and Offices for CY 2024!
The GAWAD KALASAG (Kalamidad at Sakuna Labanan, Sariling Galing ang Kaligtasan) Search for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance is an award scheme conducted by the Office of the Civil Defense that aims to recognize the commendable performance of LGUs and other stakeholders in the promotion of DRRM-CCA, and humanitarian assistance programs.
We commend the efforts of all the men and women behind this success – the Muicipal Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) chaired by our Municipal Mayor Atty. Vicente G. Pagurayan, the MDRRM Office thru MDRRMO Isabelito Abaya, 𝗔𝗩QO personnel/volunteers, LGU Officials and Employees and all other stakeholders.
The award was received by MDRRMO Isabelito Abaya and Vice Mayor Hon. AV Roxas Pagurayan, the man behind the 𝗔ksyon 𝗩einte Quatro Oras Rescue Team, a public service initiative of the Local Government Unit of Sto. Niño that aims to address disaster preparedness and immediate disaster response.
