The Municipal Government of Sto. NiΓ±o through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office once again implements the “BEST BARANGAY/SCHOOL ESWM IMPLEMENTER CY 2024”, an Incentive and Award Program stipulated in the Solid Waste Management Plan of the municipality. This annual activity aims to ensure and monitor the effectiveness of the implementation and observance of RA 9003, otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 and other local programs relevant to environmental protection in the municipality’s respective barangays and schools.
Barangays were categorized into three (3):
1) Rural I (250 HHs and less)
2) Rural II (>250 HHs)
3) Urban (Centro Sur & Centro Norte)
Schools were also categorized into four (4):
1) Elementary Schools (MG/Small)
2) Elementary Schools (Medium/Large)
3) Integrated Schools
4) National High Schools
The aforesaid undertaking shall commence by September 10, 2024 (Tuesday). The schedule of the first group to be evaluated on the first week shall be posted on September 6, 2024 (Friday).
