Personnel from LGU Sto. Niño recently completed a five-day basic Geographic Information System (GIS) training workshop held on February 17-21, 2025 at Pulsar Hotel Suites,Tuguegarao City. The training was facilitated by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), aimed to equip the LGU with essential GIS skills for improved land management and tenure improvement.
The training covered a wide range of topics such as introduction to GIS, Map appreciation, GIS software functionalities, Data management within GIS, and Map composition. Participants gained hands-on experience in converting data into GIS format, creating map layers, and producing basic map layouts.
The training was facilitated by experts from DHSUD: MS. Charo T. Caise, OIC-CHIEF, ELUPDD, Mr. Marvin Aribbay, HHRO III,ELUPDD, Ms. Donnabelle P. Maquimot,HHRO II,ELUPDD and Ms. Sharmaine B. Lozano,PDO III.
The training workshop was participated in by different LGU offices like MPDO, MENRO, MEO, MDRRMO, DA, and ASSESOR headed by Engr. Dennis I. Piñera, MPDC, and through the leadership of the Municipal Mayor Hon. Vicente G. Pagurayan.
